READING SUMMARY 'MEG & MOG'

This week I read a children’s picture book called Meg and Mog by Helen Nicoll and Jan Pienkowski. Meg and Mog are a series of books, which are about a witch called Meg and her cat called Mog. The book is about Meg planning going to a spell-making Halloween party with all the other witches, however unfortunately the spell does not go to plan and all the other witches turn into mice.
The illustration within the book is quite simple, bold and uses deep colours, as they are designed specifically to appeal to young children. The language used in ‘Meg and Mog’ is very simple, with only having short sentences on each page. This allows the illustrations to play a significant part in storytelling and creating meaning for the children.
