Brown Bear what do you see? Summary

The book ‘brown bear, brown-bear what do you see?’ is simply structured by using rhyming question and answers to engage the children in the story. Each page includes a drawing of an animal with the question “animal, animal), what do you see?’ and by flipping the page over the animals answer will be evident. This will involve an illustration of the animal of which they see and the sentence“ I see a (another animal name) looking at me’. This book is excellent for young children that have not quite developed the skill of reading or that are beginners, as it is not only fun and easy to read, but it allows the children to predict what animal will come next. This book not only uses simple, easy to read text to tell the story, however the illustrations also make meaning to the text. Through these illustrations and text children learn the colours, the animals and how to rhyme. I believe this is a great teaching resource for teachers educating students in reception or even kindergarten.
