The Lorax By Dr. Suese, is a fantastic book that can be related into society and environment lessons as the main plot and point of the story is to depict the importance of caring for all the trees in the world and how without the care the world will perish.
Etwined in the story is a fantastic use of poetry, gripping rhymes and almost a rhythm to the story. There are characters through the story that are added and faded quickly only to have their position in the story to leave small bits of information to continue the fantasy that is created by the story. There are many words that are created to suit the story and the fantasy world that is a metaphor for our actual world, this can be fun, and makes the story interesting for the students to hear.
This story and its ideologies would be fantastic to tie in with a topic about deforestation and the impacts that it has on the environment.
